Dan came back from errands beaming from ear to ear. He was so utterly pleased with himself I started going through a list of possibilities for his good humor. "I got you a present" he said. "You're going to love it. Its going to make your life easier". Out he goes to get it and I'm going through the list of what might make my life easier. Only there's no list. It's a startling revelation when you can't think of a single thing to make your life easier. In he comes with his prize to which I manage a less than excited Oh as I try to comprehend just what he is thinking. I can almost see the air leaking out of his balloon because I'm not jumping up and down with delight. "Wait, I'll show you" Up he comes and places it on the counter. He's going to sell it to me. "Look, you don't have to hold it. You can just set it in this little holder. See how easy that is". I realize I better muster up a little enthusiasm so I say, "Great." "You don't like it", he says. "Yes I do its adorable."
My present is a brand new ice-fishing pole with it's own little holder.
This all came about from our last ice-fishing adventure but that is a story for another day.
